Find your Strengths with StrengthsFinder 2.0

To improve your homebased business, you need to focus on your strengths. Probably one of the best books I’ve read ever about finding your own inner strengths is Gallup StrengthsFinder 2.0. This book comes with a test that will determines your best overall talents.

For my case, my strengths are:

Focus
Restorative
Futuristic
Intellection
Learner

Once I got my strengths, I thought at first : now what ?

Then I’ve spent most of the day thinking about it. And I can finally conclude that knowing your strength is quite valuable. Knowing my strengths gave me, first and foremost, more confidence in my talents.

I always considered myself as a learner, but now the test confirmed this, and it even gave me the motivation I needed to consider improving my learning process. I started Reading Genuis 2.0. in an effort to improve this talent.

For my Intellection side, I used to be someone that thinks alot, but these last months I didn’t set apart time for thinking. This test reminded me that : it’s during those times I spend with myself that I got my best ideas. I decided to set apart some time for thinking every day.

I’m still searching for practical ways to improve my other strengths. But I must say, this test is really good! And I would advice everyone to do it and report in the comments.

For example, I’m now trying to rent a flat in Paris (anyone ?). The process is very painful : flats in Paris get rented the minute the announce came in the press. I was really struggling, doing searches randomly, not following any path and I didn’t suceed.

Since I was quite into the strength mouvement lately, I just said to myself, why am I not applying my focus strengths in all areas of my life ? Why am I only applying it in my professional life ? So I just sat down, pondered about my current problem, made some reading over the Internet, compiled all the information I need, put an action plan in place with measurement and deadline, just like I would do with my professional projects :-) .
