Choose Your Domain Name
Before you choose your domain name, you have to know your taget audience. For example, a plug-in-profit website needs a domain name related to work at home, something in the line of http://www.workathomechannel.com.
Try to get your target market keywords into your domain name, but don’t go for something like “work-at-home-business-idea-and-opportunities-4-you.com”, this is terrible and will drive people away! Remember that using your keywords in your domain name can increase click-through rates on search engine listings and paid ads as well as make it easier to get keyword-rich inbound links.
If possible, choose a short URL to make it easier for people to remember it. I always prefer to pick a .com name instead of .net, .org. It always looks more professional.
I usually register my domains at http://www.GoDaddy.com, or http://www.namecheap.com because they have reasonable prices. But if you separate the hosting and the domain name registration companies, there is an extra technical step that you need to achieve in order to associate the hosting and the domain name.
It maybe be easier for a beginner to choose a hosting company such as Host4Profit that will take care of the hosting and registration of your domain name.
What’ The Next Step ?
If you had registered an account at Host4Profit and you received the confirmation that your account up and running, you can go directly to “Build And Create Your Website” where I will show you how to create a website using HTML.
If you didn’t succeed in registering for a Host4Profit account, go to “Host Your Website” for a step-by-step video tutorial.
